Six years ago, when we started WeCP, we began by building an AI model that can take the questions recommendation for a skill to the next level. Over the past few months, we have ramped up the development of new AI capabilities in WeCP to benefit talent acquisition community. Leveraging GPT-4 models, WeCP will become much more advance skill evaluation system than before . As we continue to focus on scaling the coverage of technical skill’s depth and breadth, we aim to hone our fundamental mathematical understanding of – what is a skill, what is ability and what is knowledge.

One of the key challenges in technical assessments is the ability to accurately measure the depth and breadth of a candidate’s skills. Traditional assessment methods often rely on simple multiple-choice questions or short coding assignments that do not fully capture a candidate’s abilities. To address this challenge, WeCP has been working on building advanced AI models that can evaluate skills in a more comprehensive and accurate manner. The platform uses state-of-the-art language models such as GPT-4 to analyze candidate responses and provide detailed insights into their skills and abilities. The new AI capabilities in WeCP allow for smarter question selection, where the platform can accurately match the level of aptitude required for a specific role and business use case to select the most appropriate problem-solving task. This reduces the workload for hiring managers and allows them to focus on other aspects of the hiring process.

Let's understand with a few examples, what WeCP can do with new AI capabilities:

Example 1: Smartly picking a problem-solving question

A company is hiring for a technical role that requires strong problem-solving skills. The new AI capabilities can accurately gauge the business usecase and the level of problem solving aptitude required in candidates. This would further fine-tune and pick the most accurately matching problem statements to assess the candidate. This will free hiring managers and humans to manually read question and use their brain to select the right problem solving task from a large pool of questions. Let AI pick for you.

Example 2: AI Assistance during face to face Interview

When you create a interview feedback form, the new AI capabilities in WeCP can automatically fetch a list interview questions (relevant for the role + that company) from the large pool so that Interviewers readily gets the most relevant question for the candidate to get the needful response. The platform can automatically display a list of relevant interview questions based on the specific job role and company. This not only saves time for the interviewer but also ensures that the questions are relevant and effective in evaluating the candidate’s skills.

Example 3: Predicting the problem-solvers

From a group of test results, you can now find candidates who possessed problem-solving skills despite them not having solved any problem-solving task. This means that even if a candidate has not explicitly solved a problem-solving task, their overall performance in the assessment can indicate their ability to solve complex problems.

Conclusion

However, it’s important to note that ChatGPT should be used as a supplement to traditional recruitment methods, rather than a replacement. While ChatGPT can certainly help recruiters find top talent, it’s still important for recruiters to have human interaction and judgment when evaluating candidates.

One way to balance the use of ChatGPT and human judgment is by using ChatGPT to narrow down the pool of candidates, and then relying on human recruiters to conduct more in-depth interviews and assessments. This way, recruiters can ensure that they are finding the best candidates for their organization, while also taking advantage of the efficiency and speed that ChatGPT provides.

Overall, ChatGPT has the potential to significantly improve the way recruiters find and hire top talent. By automating certain tasks and providing valuable insights, ChatGPT can help recruiters save time and effort, and find the right candidates.
